These Lovebirds...

This past weekend, I shot Chelsea & Cover's Engagement Session. They getting married in September at a gorgeous winery in Northern Virginia. After a few days of rain, the skies couldn't have been bluer on Saturday! These two lovebirds really worked it for the camera...as you can tell! It was so hard to pick which photos to post because they're both SO photogenic...so lucky:) I loved Chelsea's flirty polka dot sundress with those sunglasses. Makes me love this time of year!

Janie's Children

When I photographed Janie Medley's glorious floral arrangements this past weekend, I couldn't have been happier. Janie is a true artist when it comes to flowers and I wish...oh boy do I wish, I had only known about her when I got married. She's SO funny! When you order flowers from her, please don't call them "flowers". You should refer to them as her "children" haha. She takes such pride in what she does that it's only natural to be connected to them. The flowers above are green/white parrot tulips, white anemones, white ranunculus, and the center portion of white scabiosa. I am only going to show the photos of her flowers as she posts them on her site, The Bride's Cafe. They are a surprise:)

Last week, I had so much fun with Carrie while we were doing her Bridal Session at the Hotel Helix in DuPont Circle, DC. She is so stunning and I'm extremely happy with the results!!! Carrie is getting married in September at a beautiful country setting. She is an amazing & accomplished graphic designer who screenprinted her wedding invitations on wood panels...love it! I love my job:)

This past week has just been insane....good insanity! Actually, it's been amazing! I had a phenomenal Bridal Shoot with one of my favorite "Brides to be" up in DC at the Hotel Helix. I will hopefully be able to do a big post in the next day or so. Then, we had our BIG studio opening on Friday! That was so much fun because I had set up a "photobooth" with goofy props where you could have your photo taken....hilarious! I will also be showing some of those to expose the true characters I call my friends. haha. To add to the excitement, I had an engagement session featured on The Bride's Cafe. Hooray! Then, on Saturday, Janie Medley from thebridescafe.com invited me over to do some photos of her jaw-dropping florals. Ladies, if you are one of the fortunate few who get to snag Janie for your wedding....you will not be sorry. I have not seen flowers more beautiful than hers!!! Take a look at her site tomorrow because she will be posting a bunch of images from our day of fun.

I was finally able to go through our calendar this morning and write down the 5 main dates that are still available in 2009. The GREAT news is this: If you book one of the above dates by the end of May, then you can take off $200.00!!!

Some more ideas

When Dave & I got married, there had been so much time and money spent on flowers. Then, as many of you know-there's nothing to show for it at the end of the day! So frustrating! I just came across this wonderful idea that is extremely unique & lasting. These bouquets are made by letters4lilly in Austrailia through etsy.com and are amazingly affordable. My bouquet was put in a fridge after the wedding and in the morning, it was very very very dead. I wish I had one of these to hold onto!!!

Sigh with delight

Umm....I want a house full of Lauren Alane's birds. Yes, it might be a bit odd to see a flock of bird cake toppers around one's home BUT they are soooooooo cute! Even sadder, I would most likely give names to each one and pretend to have conversations with them. haha. Check Lauren's site out for some really great ideas. I hope this gives some inspiration on such a chilly Spring day!

They had a very romantic, old Hollywood, classic feel to their big day that made them soooo much fun to photograph. The reception was held at the Springfield Country Club.  Emily was magnificiant and radiant. I heart them.

MACROCK WEEKEND

The Mid-Atlantic College Radio Conference (MACRoCk) went on this past weekend and I had the pleasure of photographing it. It is such an invigorating mix of extremely creative people including amazzzzing printmakers and bands. The weather was pefect and I loved just sitting outside laughing with friends. If you ever get a chance to attend, you should definitely go!
